A Finely Carved Irish, George III Period Kilkenny Marble Chimneypiece in the Manner of Charles Robert Cockerell.

Featuring a central tablet carved with a roman tazza ern motif, popularised by Robert Adam, flanked by S scroll corbels on the corner blocks. Either side of the central tablet is carved with a singular patera, the web-like grooves running inward to the centre of the circle which is defined by a tightly carved knot.
