An Extremely Refined George III Carved Pine Chimneypiece.
A finely carved late Georgian fireplace with decorative elements of Rococo taste. The breakfront moulded shelf framed by a fine cornice showing ribbon and rosettes is supported by a frieze carved with quatrefoil-panels and foliage at centre, scrolling foliage and C-scroll trusses at the sides. The aperture with eared slip is framed by a foliate and acanthus- carved mould, the jambs showing hung foliage rest on plinths.
