An 18th Century Irish Carrara Marble Frame Chimneypiece

An Irish Carrara marble frame from the 18th century. This simple, attractive frame is formed of a header and jambs featuring fielded panels. The gently curved underside to the header is an unusual characteristic which adds a soft grace to the piece. The impression of a keystone in the centre of the header is created by the fielded panels on either side.
