A mid eighteenth-century George II carved pine and gesso chimneypiece chimneypiece, featuring gesso urns and a tall frieze of flutes and spears, the grain of the stripped wood running through the carving unheeded. Dentil moulding underlines the tiered shelf and oak leaves and acorns fall down the jambs with grace.
