A good early 19th century Regency, Greek revival, carved statuary marble chimneypiece. The deep shelf with rounded corners and a stepped moulding, above a frieze carved with large anthemion issuing foliate scrolls with flowerhead paterae, raised on Bacchic female terms with Ionic capitals, their hair entwined with vines and bunches of grapes, and with garlands of flowers hung from their shoulders. The plinths and aperture are carved with a running pattern of stylised leaf motifs.
