Carved from Grigio Carnico, a richly grained marble of pumice black and dove grey, this bolection chimneypiece is centred by a keystone in Breccia Medicea. Both the marble and the shape of this keystone offer a striking contrast against the rest of the chimneypiece. The fragments of ivory and ox-blood in the keystone, accentuate the light feathering of the Grigio Carnico and complete this handsome chimneypiece.
