An imposing and magnificent large George II statuary and Sienna Palladian marble fireplace. The inverted breakfront shelf is carved with acanthus leaf, egg and dart mouldings. The Sienna marble frieze is centred by a classical urn, flanked by trailing vines and grapes, while the elegant opening is surrounded by plain white marble fillets outlined with egg and dart mouldings. The delicately carved, trailing vines flanking the classical urn on the frieze may indicate that this chimneypiece was originally intended for use in a dining parlour.
