The frieze of this neoclassical fireplace features a rectangular tablet with concave strigils centred by an elegant patera, flanked by fielded entwining guilloche, which are repeated on the end blocks. The tapering fluted jambs rest on sturdy lion’s paws set in place on square foot blocks.
