St. James

Simple sensuous lines and the rich colours of the Breche violette marble combine to make this a classic English fireplace. Based on an early 18th century design by James Gibbs (1682–1754), the bolection frame is surmounted by a frieze which terminates in S scrolls echoing the ogee of the bolection mould, the whole capped with a moulded breakfront shelf.
