A George II Carved Pine and LImewood Chimneypiece.

Predominantly uncarved, this stripped pine and gesso chimneypiece is of neoclassical form and austere complexion. A waterleaf moulding in gesso frames the aperture and the central tablet shows a bower of ebullient acanthus scrolls, the leaves and stems delicate and the symmetry pleasing.
