A George III Pine and Gesso Chimneypiece.

A striking and quite exceptional Georgian, pine and gesso chimneypiece, the frieze carved with a musical motif that consists, amongst other things, a lyre, laurel leaves, oboes and sheets of music. The tiered shelf exhibits fine carving of alternating anthemion and acanthus, guilloche and water leaf moulding, the central tablet depicting sphinxes.
