A graceful and restrained fireplace in Portland stone with clean lines and smooth, rounded mouldings. The carved scrolls on the jamb accentuate the rounded curves on the sides, which contrast and balance the rectangular opening. The shelf and frieze have recessed ends to create extra depth.
